Our Story

     This story begins on the shores of Takapuna Beach in Auckland, NZ where DeMi was first frightened by Dave. She was basking in the sun on a swinging hammock adjacent to the playground, listening to the kids play while watching the clouds roll past, when all of a sudden she became shaded by an American boy greeting her. Once their eyes met each other’s, they instantly smiled & began a long walk wading ankle deep in the ebbing seas.

 

     After sometime, they became famished & decided to share a legendary Sal’s pizza. As they were awaiting their feast, Dave asked DeMi what all she's done in NZ & DeMi innocently replied back saying she's only been in the country for a week so has only been to the Auckland Airport, Takapuna Beach, & her University where she was studying. Dave found this absolutely appalling and asked to take her to his favourite waterfall. DeMi hesitantly agreed, but requested they stop by her flat to pick up her bathing suit as she's always wanted to swim at a Waterfall.

 

     An hour later they arrived at Piha's KiteKite falls where they embarked on about an hour’s walk to the top of the falls when DeMi then revealed to Dave that she doesn't know how to swim. Dave reluctantly began to change into his togs in preparation to jump in first so he's right there waiting to save his future wife. To set the scene a bit better, the month is July, the weather is cold, & Dave is basically a popsicle by the time DeMi gathered the courage to trust her future husband to save her life for the first time. They finished their day together and were inseparable ever since!
